MIDDLEPORT COMMUNITY YARD SALE
Residents are eyeing their trash while they are
spring cleaning for anything that they can sell at the 16th annual
Middleport Community Yard Sale that takes place in and around the
Village on Saturday, May 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Local
Middleport residents will be setting up and selling their wares in
their yard, garage or driveway. The sale continues to grow each year has
been a great success and residents are hosting sales again this year.
Last year, there were more than 100 sales in and around the Village of
Middleport during the yard sale.
There will be hot dogs, pop and chips for sale at the Middleport United Methodist Church on Vernon St. near Park Ave.
Residents
sell their oldies but goodies, and it doesn’t matter how much they have
to offer. Any money they make is theirs to keep.

FOOD PANTRY: APRIL 23rd
This coming Saturday is the fourth Saturday of the month, which means the Gasport food pantry is in operation.
"GADGETS & GEAR" AT LIBRARY
Residents with questions
about their laptop, tablet, e-reader, smartphone or any other electronic
devices can bring them to the Gadgets & Gear Session at the
Royalton Hartland Community Library for answers. This hands on help
session will be held Saturday, April 30 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
With
the new digital services offered by the library, especially the latest
called “Hoopla” that offers free music, eBooks, TV shows, movies and
comic books via digital download, learning how to use electronic devices
is more important than ever.
Sara
Taylor, an e-mobile trainer from the Nioga Library System’s BTOP
Program, will be at the library to answer questions about these
services, and can show how to use just about any electronic device that
is brought to the session.
Interested
residents are encouraged to bring in their own devices and their
charging cords and ask questions about them. Attendees will be able to
download digital items from Hoopla as well as eBooks from Overdrive and
eMagazines from Zinio right at the session so they will know how to use
these services available at no charge to library patrons through the
Nioga system.
As the Gadgets & Gear programs are well attended, registration for the upcoming April 30 session is requested.
The
Royalton Hartland Community Library periodically offers sessions like
Gadgets & Gear and residents are encouraged to check the library’s
website at www.RoyHartCommunityLibrary.com or stop by 9 S. Vernon Street in Middleport for program information, or they can call the library at 735-3281.

LIBRARY TO HOLD CRAIGSLIST SEMINAR
Garage sale season is coming and many people may want to buy or sell their unwanted or unused items online using Craigslist.
Craigslist
is a classified advertisements website with sections devoted to jobs,
housing, personals, for sale, items wanted, services, community, gigs,
résumés, and even discussion forums that began in 1995. More than 60
million people use Craigslist to buy or sell items each month in the US

Now you can
learn how to buy and sell your stuff on Craigslist.org at a special
technology help session on Monday, April 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the
Royalton Hartland Community Library, 9 S. Vernon Street in Middleport.
Knowledgeable
staff from the Nioga BTOP program will show how to create a listing,
upload pictures and contact buyers and sellers.
The
library will provide the laptop computers; participants just have to
bring their own smartphone or camera (with cables) to learn how to
upload pictures for a listing.
