Speeding ticket rates in New York

According to the Rosenblum Law Firm, New York consistently ranks as one of the worst states to get a speeding ticket. They say there may be a way to avoid getting a speeding ticket in the first place. By parsing newly released 2017 data from the Department of Motor Vehicles, the Rosenblum Law Firm has analyzed the places one is most and least likely to get a speeding ticket in New York, which they released on Wednesday.

Where do our towns stand as compared to others across the state?

Royalton ranks 311th of 998 places in New York with 434 speeding tickets. Hartland is even lower with 193, good for 478th place.

You can see an interactive map and retrieve the source data at Rosenblum's website:

7th annual Michelle's Memorial

The goal of Michelle's Memorial is to provide a scholarship at Royalton Hartland for graduating Seniors, encourage sports in our community as well as the remembrance of Michelle Bewley (Schuler) who, in 2006, passed away at the age of 29 in a car accident.

Although the exact requirements of the scholarship change year to year based on participation, the goal is still the same; reward a student that took part in music and sports, excelled academically and portrayed a whole lot of heart both on and off the field, just as Michelle did.

The 7th annual Michelle's Memorial 5k will take place on Saturday, November 17th at 9:00 AM at the fire hall in Middleport. Registration begins at 8:00 AM.

You can register here for $20:

Davey Todd's monster bucks

Here's a great article about Gasport hunter and Roy-Hart junior Davey Todd who, by age 16, has harvested two monster bucks the size of which most hunters wouldn't see over decades of hunting. The young man is an expert outdoorsman!
