EASE THE TAX GROWTH ON NEW YORK'S FARMERS

Agriculture is far and away the biggest sector of the economy in the towns of Royalton and Hartland. Our farmers face some major inequity when attempting to compete globally because of the property tax structure in New York. My column for this week's newspapers looks at this and asks that the Governor sign a bill (that has passed both houses) that would put a cap on assessments of agricultural land.
