Re-opening information sessions

From the Superintendent's Desk

Parents and Guardians,

As you are aware, all districts were required to submit a reopening plan for the 2020-2021 school year. The Roy-Hart plan and supporting information can be found on our website. The Board of Education and I are hopeful that this comprehensive reopening plan, which was informed by months of research, surveys, focus groups and guidance from the New York State Departments of Education and Health will meet the needs of our community. Whether it be in-person instruction, remote learning or a blended learning situation, our schools will be ready to provide safe schools and quality programs of studies for our students.

It is important to note that our desire to reopen our schools with a full set of opportunities for our students hinges on any future Governor’s Executive Order(s) and regional Department of Health guidance. Our priority is to maintain the health and safety of our students and staff.

Due to New York State’s Phase 4 crowd limitations, I would like to invite all interested members of our school community to a “virtual presentation” of our plan and to provide an opportunity to ask any questions that you may have or to ask for clarification regarding our plan.

The meetings will take place on Monday, August 17 at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, August 18 at 8:30 a.m. They can be observed via Live Stream which can be found at the top of the District website homepage. Residents are requested to complete a questionnaire prior to the meeting with questions or to ask for clarification on the District’s reopening plan. The questionnaire will be monitored during the meetings for any incoming questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Dr. Hank Stopinski
