From the Royalton-Hartland Superintendent's Desk
Dear Parents and Guardians:
Over the last few days, the District has received further
information and guidance from the New York State Governor’s Office, the
New York State Department of Education and the New York State Department
of Health in regard to their expectations as to when and under what
circumstances we can reopen our schools. We expect to submit our
detailed reopening plan to the Department of Education, and
will share with our school community, before the July 31 deadline.
Prior to August 7, Governor Cuomo will determine, based on specific
community health metrics, whether we can reopen our schools in September
and under what model. The Department of Health will continue to monitor
these health metrics on a weekly basis throughout August and throughout
the school year in the event we need to quickly adjust our
instructional model.
We
have developed a survey with some very time sensitive information that
we need as we begin preparing for the reopening of our schools. I ask
that you please complete the Family Information Survey as soon as you
can. The survey has also been mailed to all households, however, we
strongly encourage you to complete it online if possible.
These are challenging times for each of us. I strongly encourage the
entire community to remain vigilant in their use of personal protections
-- wash your hands often, wear a face covering, maintain physical
distancing and avoid close groups of people. Together we will beat
COVID-19.
Sincerely,
Dr. Hank Stopinski
Superintendent of Schools
