A message from Roy-Hart Superintendent Hank Stopinski...
As part of our ongoing partnership with local law enforcement, we will be partnering with the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office to allow their officers to conduct three trainings at our schools. There will be a great deal of activity on our campuses, none of which will have a direct impact on our students or staff. A few details are as follows:
The Niagara County Sheriff's Office (NCSO), consisting of multiple teams, will begin utilizing the Elementary Building around 8:00 a.m. July 18. We anticipate eight to ten officer vehicles (marked and unmarked), 'Bearcat' armoured vehicles, and about twenty officers to be on-site. They will conduct some room clearings/searches and basic tactical drills at the building for about two to three hours throughout the building. Custodians will rope off any areas of the buildings that are not accessible or have events/practices going on.
The NCSO will then come to the Middle/High School Campus around 11:00 a.m, where they will be conducting some 'Active Shooter' drills/trainings at the Middle School. They will utilize soft "soap" rounds in these trainings throughout the building. They will then proceed over to the High School to practice these same sort of drills. They are expected to be in the District all day, finishing up on the High School campus by approximately 2:00 p.m.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
As always, I hope that you will make an effort to reach out and visit when you see me around the schools and town
