Scientists visit Gasport
Gasport continues to be a hotbed of scientific study. Today, I took a team of scientists from Canada and France -- led by a University of Toronto professor -- to the bubbling gas that gave Gasport its name. They are trying to determine the origin of the random gas seeps in the region and will be investigating the Eternal Flame and Amherst gas seep in Erie County today, too. Last year, we were visited by professors from Indiana and the UK. It's pretty cool to have a geological oddity that interests scientists from all over the world.
