I
would like to let all the residents know that I was contacted by the
New York State Canal Corporation today. I was informed that they will be
closing the Gasport lift bridge for a period of up to four weeks.
The repairs will be on hydraulic cylinders. They have to be removed and sent to be rebuilt and then returned to the bridge.
The
bridge will remain in the UP position, so canal traffic will continue.
Please be aware that you will not see a lot of work going on because
work is being done off site.
The dates that the bridge will be closed will be from August 7th until September 1st.
