GASPORT MAN SURVIVES ACCIDENT THAT WAS FATAL TO MOTORCYCLIST

On October 11 at 4:52 pm in Machias, NY, initial investigation conducted by the New York State Police Troop “A” Collision Reconstruction Unit of a 2 motorcycle vs Car fatal accident revealed that a car driven by Laura Howard-Raska of Snyder, NY was traveling on Bakerstand Road and  failed to stop at the intersection of Route 242.

As a result a motorcycle driven by Larry Choops 47, of Lockport, NY struck the car and Choops was ejected.  Choops was pronounced deceased at Olean General.

The second motorcycle, driven by James Fink 67, of Gasport, NY, also struck the car and was ejected.  Fink was treated and released.

Howard-Raska was ticketed for speeding, failure to stop for a stop sign, and failure to yield the right of way.
