On Tuesday, September 22nd, the YWCA of Niagara (http://www.ywcaniagara.org/) will be holding their annual awards dinner at the Conference & Events Center in Niagara Falls. Awards are presented to local women who lead or serve their community and exemplify the core values of the YWCA.
There is one honoree from Gasport and it is someone near and dear to my heart -- my mom, Cheryl Confer, who has been a volunteer with Tri-Town Ambulance for almost 20 years, going on hundreds of calls each year and helping to save countless lives. Over that time she spent 10 years as Tri-Town's president and 6 years as its director of operations. She also has been a part of the Niagara County EMS Council and Big Lakes EMS Council.
