Not only are herbs a great way to spice up meals in
a healthy way, they can also make your garden more beautiful. Linda
Hedley, a Charter Member of the Friends of the Kenan Herb Club in
Lockport, will be at the Royalton Hartland Community Library Community
Room on Monday, May 11 at 7 p.m. to offer her expertise on how to do
both.
Her program
“How to Grow and Use Herbs” will cover the basics of how to plant and
care for a variety of herbs in your garden. Hedley has grown her own
herbs and offers some of them for sale at the Middleport Farmers’
Market. She will share her many ideas about how to use homegrown herbs
for cooking as well as some other uses that may surprise some folks!
Currently,
Hedley serves as the President of the Friends of the Kenan Herb Club,
an affiliate group at the Kenan Center which was established in 1985.
Through the years, the Club has offered a number of programs and
activities with a focus on herb-related topics ranging from culinary
usage to herbal gift making.
The
“How to Grow and Use Herbs” program is free and anyone interested is
invited to register for this educational session by stopping by the
library at 9 Vernon Street or by calling (716) 735-3281.
