Everyone can appreciate the beauty of a quilt but
there is more to the story – much more. For generations, quilts have
told stories, carried on traditions and inspired new designs.
Linda
Hunter, a quilter with 35 years of experience, will discuss the role
that quilts have played in the past and in the present at the Royalton
Hartland Community Library on Monday, October 21 at 7 p.m. The
presentation is free of charge and will take place in the Community
Meeting Room, upstairs at the library at 9 Vernon Street in Middleport.
Hunter,
who is also a quilt appraiser and a member of the American Quilters
Society, will offer information about different types of quilts,
quilting techniques, types of quilt pattern designs and how to best care
for your quilt. Refreshments will be served courtesy of the Friends of
the Library.
Everyone
is invited to attend this program that also includes information about
quilt classes that can be taken with Linda Hunter at various locations
around the local area.
Quilt
enthusiasts may also enjoy a look at the antique toy sewing machine
display in the showcase at the library that is on loan until the end of
October from Dolores and Jim Flowers.
