From the Niagara County Sheriff's Department...
The roadways through-out Niagara County are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Visibility may become extremely limited in some areas with very short notice. Some secondary roads have as much as a foot of snow accumulated for long stretches. The heavy snows are expected to continue thru at least 6pm tonight with heavy bands coming off Lake Ontario.
If you must travel, please use extreme caution. State, county and local road crews are out and they need to be able to work with as few obstructions as possible. It is imperative we allow our road crews the opportunity to safely clear the roads so we can get emergency vehicles to those in need.
Please check your local TV, radio and internet for local closings and cancellations. The Sheriff’s Office does not keep track of cancellations; please refrain from calling unless you need emergency services.
