HARTLAND METHODIST CHURCH AND HAITI RELIEF

Saturday's Lockport Union Sun and Journal focused on the efforts of local community groups in raising funds to help the victims of Haiti's earthquake. Among the efforts highlighted were those of a Hartland church...

The Rev. Wayne West, pastor of Hartland United Methodist Church on Ridge Road, held a community spaghetti dinner to benefit the Haiti relief effort. More than $1,600 was raised, West said, and sent to the United Methodist Committee on Relief, or UMCOR. People in the congregation prepared and served the dinner, as well as other tasks such as baking, greeting guests and cleaning up.
