GASPORT GETS TASTE OF WINTER THIS WEEKEND

We had some very cold temps and snow in December, but it was manageable. This weekend the town will get it's first real dose of winter's reality with plenty of snow, cold temps, and wind. It's one of those rare times when our part of Niagara County gets Lake Effect. Best case scenario has us getting 7 inches of snow. Worst case has us getting 15 inches of snow. Be safe on the roads because here's what the National Weather Service reports...

Today: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 16. Wind chill values as low as -8. Blustery, with a northwest wind between 18 and 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Tonight: Snow. Low around 10. Wind chill values as low as -7. Blustery, with a northwest wind between 17 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Sunday: Snow and widespread blowing snow. High near 18. Wind chill values as low as -3. Breezy, with a northwest wind between 18 and 23 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.
