Anita Shreve’s fictional work “The Pilot’s Wife” will be
discussed at the November 10 meeting of the Royalton Hartland Book Club’s next
meeting at 7 p.m. in the upstairs Community Room. The members will be talking
about what the main character, Kathryn, goes through after a double hit: the
loss of her husband and the discovery of his “other family” in England.
After the tragic loss of her husband in a plane crash, Kathryn learns that he was living a second life with a wife and two children living in England. The details unfold and Kathryn struggles with both grief and anger in this 1998 bestseller that was adapted into a CBS made-for-TV movie in 2002.
