From the Superintendent's Desk

Roy-Hart Community,

In an effort to continue to provide peace of mind and safety in our local schools and community, the District has teamed up with Niagara County Department of Health to provide free rapid COVID-19 testing on Sunday April 11 to residents. The Niagara County Department of Health wants to offer the community an opportunity to give themselves the peace of mind before sending their kids back to school or stepping back into their workplace after going on spring break. They have a limited number of spots available for pre-registration on Sunday (4/11) between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. the pre-registration link can be found here (https://apps2.health.ny.gov/doh2/applinks/cdmspr/2/counties?DateID=BE743CA2E9440B4EE0530A6C7C16DFD2) and a registration “Fillable Paperwork” here (https://www.niagaracounty.com/Portals/4/Docs/COVID%20Test%20form_fillable%20Patient.pdf)

Please see the attached Updated Interim Travel Advisory (https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/system/files/documents/2021/04/update_interim_travel_advisory_april12021.pdf) for quarantine restrictions for travelers arriving in New York State following out-of-state travel. This guidance includes the following updates:
Quarantine and testing are no longer required for asymptomatic domestic travelers as of April 1, 2021
Quarantine, consistent with the CDC recommendations for international travel, is still recommended for domestic travelers who are not fully vaccinated or have not recovered from laboratory confirmed COVID-19 during the previous 3 months
Restrictions on international travel are established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
NYS Travel Form must continue to be filled out by all travelers

As always, please continue the use of masks, physical distancing and handwashing. Together, we can keep our schools open and continue to provide the instruction and services needed by our students.

Sincerely,

Dr. Hank Stopinski
