Dr. Seuss’s birthday is an opportunity to celebrate reading, learning, and silliness!
Preschoolers
ages 3 and up are invited to mark this beloved children’s author’s
March 2 birthday with special stories, crafts, birthday cupcakes and a
guest visit from none other than the Cat in the Hat! The party will take
place Saturday, March 5 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Royalton Hartland
Community Library, 9 S. Vernon Street in Middleport.
Dr.
Seuss, or Theodor Seuss Geisel, was an American writer and illustrator
best known for authoring popular children's books under the pen name Dr.
Seuss. Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries, and
community centers will also be celebrating his birthday as part of the
National Education Association’s annual “Read Across America” program.
Space
for Dr. Seuss’s Birthday Party is limited, and attendance is free, so
registration is required. Interested participants can register by phone,
online or at the Library Desk.
