GASPORT RESIDENTS SURVIVE CLOSE CALL ON NIAGARA RIVER

Today's Buffalo News is reporting that 2 Gasport residents -- Donna Fraser and Michelle Zimmerman -- had a close call on the Niagara River last night when the sailboat they were passengers of had struck a shoal and began taking on water.

The water depths prevented a police boat from reaching the disabled vessel, but luckily, a Good Samaritan in the form of  Angela Vallone used her jet ski to rescue the boaters.
